As três salas da Casa da Memória apresentam mobília antiga de sala e quarto, louças várias, peças decorativas, fotografias e utensílios da vida quotidiana como potes, pilões, caldeirões e outros tipicamente locais: bulí, tagarra, tropeça, podogó.
O conteúdo, proveniente de várias gerações de famílias foguenses - gentilmente cedido para o efeito - dá a conhecer um pouco do que foi a vida de outrora, de um arquipélago – antiga colónia portuguesa - voltado para o comércio marítimo e a emigração, onde alternavam períodos de prosperidade com os de pobreza.
O pátio interior da Casa serviu nos anos 1960 para projetar filmes, funcionando assim como um cinema ao ar livre, o primeiro da Ilha do Fogo. Hoje serve para convívios e atividades culturais, conferências, lançamentos de livros e projeções de filmes.
A Casa da Memória organizou, segundo o sistema CDU, uma biblioteca com livros e artigos sobre a história de Cabo Verde e em particular da Ilha do Fogo disponíveis para consultas. Esta biblioteca é muito apreciada pelos pesquisadores e turistas.

The House of Memory is entered through a furnished living-room containing a collection of ceramics, decorative objects and photographs, and adjoining a bedroom. In a third room are exposed numerous household objects: kitchenware, pottery, pestles and mortars, cauldrons and other more typically local objects such as bulí, tagarra, tropeça, podogó.
Its contents illustrate the life of an archipelago, particularly that of Fogo Island, dependent on sea trade and influenced by colonialism and emigration, with alternating periods of prosperity and great poverty.
We thank the families of São Filipe, particularly the family Barbosa, who lent the objects on exhibition.
The courtyard was used, in the 1960s, to project films, thus functioning as an outdoor cinema, the first of Fogo Island. Used today for cultural activities e conviviality.
